It’s not hard to fall in love with a product that can do so much in one tube. A good BB cream (beauty balm) ticks a number of boxes: It gives medium to full coverage, provides sun protection, and has moisturizing and priming capabilities. But because of all the needs it answers in just one formulation, it’s also easy to see a number of brands flopping at the BB cream game.
So, it wasn’t surprising that I had high expectations in trying out the Dr. Jart+ Dis-A-Pore BB Cream that is said to smooth skin texture, covers blemishes and large pores (and even tightens them), and has a high SPF of 30+. Not only that it has to do me beauty wonders, but this US-based brand also carries the expertise of two Korean doctors.
On the upside, this BB cream comes in a tube that looks sleek and classy. It also has a sunblock scent that isn’t my favorite, but it fades quickly enough. The texture is wonderful; it goes on creamy but then becomes a nice matte, which blends well into your pores.
My only issue with this BB Cream is that it is too light for my olive complexion. I would have been able to use it as a primer, but unfortunately it also has a pink-base that doesn’t work with my yellow undertones. That aside, it does everything it is meant to do.
It’s a great addition to the skincare regimen of those with fair pink undertones, and I would recommend Dr. Jart+ Dis-A-Pore BB Cream if:
- You’re looking for a BB Cream that will make your pores look smaller.
- You’re looking for daily high sun protection.
- You want a BB Cream that has ample coverage, and goes on matte.
- You have a fair complexion with pink undertones.
