Where was the wedding held? What made you opt to go for a destination wedding?
The wedding was held at the 8-bedroom private villa of Balesin. We chose this venue as it holds a special meaning to us given this was where we got engaged as well. Jerome and I are very laidback people, and really wanted a beach venue for the wedding as opposed to the city.
We wanted to keep our celebration as intimate as possible, having only our closest family and friends there.
How was it like planning a destination wedding? What were the biggest challenges and how did you overcome them?
Logistics for a destination wedding is always more difficult. Especially for Balesin, they had no local suppliers, so we had to fly everyone in.
The biggest challenge was scheduling the flights and accommodations of all our guests. Because the venue wanted everything turned over all at once, we were the ones consolidating all information and payments of each guest. We were like the travel agency.
How did you choose your suppliers?
I chose my suppliers based on recommendations from family and friends. Because we had a short engagement, we did not have the luxury of researching. We needed to hear from firsthand experiences.
How did you coordinate with guests and suppliers?
We were both very hands-on with our suppliers. We made sure that everything stayed in line with our personalities. We coordinated mostly through phone and email, and held meetings when needed.
Because our guest list was very intimate, we were able to message each guest personally.
What’s the inspiration behind your wedding look? Did you have any hair and makeup pegs?
My wedding look was based on my personality and style. I wanted something unconventional yet comfortable. My pegs for hair and makeup were mostly natural looks. I wanted it to be very minimal.
Who designed your wedding gown, and how did you come up with the style? How long did it take to create or find the perfect wedding dress?
My wedding gown was designed by Maureen Disini Teichert. I had my dream design in mind already, and knew Maureen could turn it into a reality. We took two designs and combined it into one dress. My gown took about four weeks to make.
What lip color did you choose for the wedding day?
I went with nude. I’m not one to use makeup so I wanted my look to be very natural.
What was in your wedding day makeup kit/pouch?
I just had my Laura Mercier lip gloss.
“My wedding look was based on my personality and style. I wanted something unconventional yet comfortable.”
Did you have your nails done? If so, where? Would you recommend this nail salon to others?
Yes I did, I had them done at Coco’s Nail Salon. Definitely would recommend this place to others.
What was your biggest takeaway from your wedding day? Do you have any beauty-related tips (or tips in general) that you can share?
Biggest takeaway would be to enjoy every moment because it’ll go by way too fast. For beauty tips, basically just keep hydrated and try to get enough sleep every day.

What were the preparations you did for your skin prior to the wedding day? Did you go to a skincare center regularly?
I’ve never had a facial and was scared to try one before my wedding. I didn’t really have any preparations prior to my wedding. I just make sure to moisturize every morning.
What was the best beauty advice you received that helped you prepare for your wedding?
The best beauty advice was to hydrate myself. Keep drinking lots and lots of water.
How about in terms of fitness? What did you do months before the wedding to stay in shape and make sure your wedding dress fit perfectly?
Because I only had a 3-month engagement, I had a pretty strict diet and work-out routine. I combined intermittent fasting and tried various food deliveries. I would eat only between 12pm to 6pm and had 1,800 calories a day.
I worked out every day. MWF, I had HIT training and all other days, I would go to spinning at Fitness First, then would do short circuits afterwards.
