2020 means committing to less or zero skin care sins and truly leaving the bad, lazy skin care habits in the past.
My skin care journey so far has been crazy. What others consider their HGs don’t work for me (which is completely normal!), and a couple of cult-faves cause me to break out! Booo. But I’ve noted down a lot of skin care wins, too, and have stuck by them for months already.
As per recent check-up, I have combination skin, and I’ve been using mostly K-beauty products for the past three or so years. Below, the top picks I’ve tried and tested (and repurchased!) and the ones I heard are good and can’t wait to try:
TRIED, TESTED, AND FINISHED TO THE LAST DROP:
I used to think I had super dry skin because I often feel dehydrated and my skin does feel like it could use a lot of moisture. I love how this product is sticky in a non-icky way, and is potent enough to give me my much-needed moisture boost. I use it every night, alternating it with my other favorite snail product, which is…
I use this together with the Snail 92 All-in-One cream. I do believe that one can never have enough snail mucin in her life—especially when you’re a thirtysomething who drinks a lot of coffee and stays out in the sun at 12 noon!
When I went to Seoul for the first time, I saw a lot of It’s Skin boutiques and that really made me curious about the brand. Seeing its full line of serums on Calyxta, of course I got excited and the temptation was too much for me to resist. After much research, I finally decided on the YE variant, primarily for its anti-aging properties. I am one who has fully embraced aging, after all.
This product does not oxidize, thank goodness, and you’ll see results almost after just a week of use. Best part was getting compliment after—and these weren’t from my own mom!
I used to be a non-believer as I’ve been using a particular commercial brand facial wash for who knows what years already, and didn’t have major breakouts since.
But of course, in the name of K-beauty I had to give this a try. And so I did, and I realized what difference it made on my skin—it feels less tight and dry! Now, I’m a Good Morning Gel Cleanser convert and I haven’t looked back since. I also purchased one for my sister and my S.O.
OUGHT TO TRY AND TEST:
I think one of the “secrets” to looking young is a healthy under eye area. I actually like it when it’s puffy due to crying or an afternoon nap. Consider me weird, but to me it’s like a natural aegyo sal.
I’m expecting the same—or better—results from this product, and when I do try it, I’ll definitely give an honest review.
My dermatologist told me I didn’t need to use toner as it’ll only dry up my face—but this one with AHA is too tempting. Whenever I read about how a certain product rids your skin of impurities, I feel like a sinner about to go to confession and finally relieve myself of my sins!
The thing with Vitamin C serums is that they are super effective but I haven’t gotten a beauty fridge to store them in yet. Our real fridge at home is packed with raw meat and stuff, so…no. Also, thank you for the blessing of food. Despite Vitamin C serums oxidizing, I’m still tempted to try this because as I’ve mentioned, they’re super effective.
