Yes, we all know the golden rule when it comes to sleep. Our mothers have told us time and again that we need 7 to 9 hours of sleep at night for our bodies to wake up feeling fit for the next day. This is because it is while we slumber that the body repairs, regenerates, and recovers from the day’s environmental stresses.
But let’s face it, with the hectic schedules and deadlines we have in today’s world, we still find ourselves waking up with dull looking skin, dark circles, puffy eyes, or just plain looking tired.
Don’t fret! There are a few tricks that can help you cope with mornings like this.
- The easiest way to wake up your skin is to splash it with cold water. This will help constrict the blood vessels making your skin look smoother and more even toned.
- Lack of sleep dehydrates skin so help take away dryness by slathering on your favourite moisturizer. Don’t forget your eye crème!
- Use a light foundation or a tinted moisturizer instead of a full coverage one. Pixi Illuminating Tint & Conceal is a tinted moisturizer with enough coverage to hide unwanted discoloration. It has illuminating properties that helps brighten dull sleep deprived skin.
- If those dark circles need more covering, reach for your concealer. The key is to use as little as possible. Stay away from heavy crème formulas that can enhance the lines under your eyes. Instead, opt for a lighter texture such as the Girlactik Concealer.
- Brighten up your eyes by curling those lashes and sweeps of mascara.
- Avoid tight-lining the eyes with a dark color which can drag down the eye area making you look even more tired. Use a nude shade to open up the eye area. Inglot Kohl Pencil 05 is a perfect skin shade for this purpose. The best part its soft velvety texture makes it easy to apply but is waterproof & transfer proof once it sets so you’re sure that it’ll last all day.
- Avoid powders and use crème based blushes and highlighters to make skin look more dewy and supple. Tarte Maracuja Blush & Glow Brightening Lumizer & Cheek Tint works as a highlight and blush in one. The best part is, it also moisturizes the skin.
- Lastly, drink lots of water throughout the day to help your body and skin stay hydrated.
