Don’t get me wrong, I am not advocating that you skip your workout all together and fake it with makeup. There is nothing quite like sweating it out at the gym to give you that fresh-faced, healthy glow. For times that you can’t squeeze in a workout, here’s how to get the get the next best thing.
Skincare
Having a blemish-free complexion is absolutely essential when trying to achieve this look. Be a fanatic when it comes to skincare. Wash your face twice a day, after brushing your teeth in the morning and right before going to bed at night. Use the right serums and moisturizers for your skin type after each wash. Using a facial scrub twice a week makes skin look clearer by getting rid of old skin cells and revealing fresh, new skin. Wear a hydrating sleeping mask to bed twice a week – trust me, you don’t want to skip this step because the results are amazing.
Skin Perfecting
Use a pea-sized amount of BB cream all over your face to even out skin tone. If you need a little more help, use a concealer on targeted areas like blemishes and dark circles under the eyes. Set with the slightest whisper of powder along the t-zone. Remember, you want it to look like healthy, clear skin so keep the makeup dewy. No room for heavy, matte foundation when going for this look.
Healthy Flush
Create a faux glow by using your favorite sheer, liquid cheek tint on the apples of your cheeks. You know you’ve put enough product when you are three feet from the mirror and can still see the color on your cheeks. Add a little of the tint on your lips or use a berry-colored lip balm.
Strobing
Complete this look by adding shimmery highlighter above the brows, on your cheekbones and at the cupid’s bow or your lips. If you have dry skin, you might want to add a little shimmer along the bridge of your nose and chin. If you are very oily, you might want to skip this step.
