1. OVER-WASHING
I have a girlfriend who would wash her face multiple times a day in hopes of attaining a blemish-free complexion. The problem is that water is extremely drying. Especially when it is combined with foaming soap cleansers. Try to limit your washing to twice a day. If you have dry skin try using a tissue-off cream cleanser.

2. TOO MUCH TONER
Honestly, I’ve cut toners out of my skincare regimen all together because it made my skin too dry. And contrary to popular belief, squeaky clean is never a good thing when it comes to skin. It is so important to maintain the natural moisture barrier of the skin because this is what keeps our skin looking youthful and supple. I would only recommend using it as a final cleansing step on days that you wear heavy makeup. Stay away from astringents because they use alcohol as a major ingredient and are extremely drying.
Recommended Product: Simple Micellar Water 200mL, P500.00
3. OVER-EXFOLIATING
Try to limit your exfoliating to twice a week. I use to think that exfoliating frequently would just make my skin smoother. The truth is overdoing it can cause your skin look itchy, red and flaky. If you habitually over-exfoliate, your perpetually inflamed skin can cause premature aging.

4. SKIN ROUGH-HOUSING
Sometimes, we tend to put too much pressure on our skin while cleansing. Ever rub your eyes vigorously in an attempt to get the waterproof mascara out? Facial muscles, the eye area in particular, are very delicate and require a gentle touch. Your cleansers are formulated to get rid of makeup and dirt. No need to rely on elbow grease.
Recommended Product: Simple Dual Effect Eye Make Up Remover 125mL, P500.00
5. PRODUCT LOYALTY
When we find a moisturizer we love, we tend to stick to it for years. Why fix it if ain’t broke right? The problem is that our skin is constantly changing. The needs of our skin evolve as we age. We need to ask ourselves what our current skin issues are and buy products that target them.
