Ever wonder how your favorite celebrities manage to look so fresh all throughout awards season? Aside from prepping with primers and using the best foundations, makeup artists make it a point to “preserve” their work with setting sprays.
Years ago, when setting sprays started to become trendy, there was really just one type of finish: matte. Although this was good in the sense that you never ever had to worry about a shiny t-zone ever again, there was just one problem: it looked a bit dated.
Fast forward to today, and we’ve been seeing an influx of makeup setting sprays that provide a dewy finish. We road tested one of them, W7’s The Fixer Makeup Fixing Spray, P284, and here’s how it fared:
The somewhat vintage designs of W7’s packaging is adorable. We love how this spray bottle is tiny enough to fit even in our smallest bags. It’s also the perfect size for traveling.
It stayed true to its promise of providing a dewy finish. We loved how it looked gleamy but not overly oily.
I did my makeup at 9:00am. I used Maybelline’s Fit Foundation, and patted some of Glossier’s Wowder afterwards, then sprayed on W7’s spray to seal the deal.
My husband took my picture at around 3:00pm, and my makeup looked almost the same—no oily t-zone and no need for touching up even past lunch time.
Perhaps the only thing I wished was better was its fragrance. I prefer really fresh or citrusy scents for products I spray on my face.
