Amazing Maui Babe Browning Lotion is a product I’ve been wanting to try ever since going on a Hawaiian vacation almost eight years ago. I saw it everywhere from Waikiki beach to hotel poolsides. The lotion with the most generic of packagings seemed to be flying off the shelves. I was intrigued. But the thing is, I don’t tan very well. I’ve spent many an hour trying to achieve the perfect tan. I have tried a countless amount of tanning oils, sunblocks, mixing them together, tanning at different hours in the day, timing my rotations to get an even tan. But the result is always the same- I burn then a few days after I’m back to my pale self.
Given my track record, I decided to slather on my favorite Avene sunblock then layer Maui Babe on top of it. Maui Babe is made with all natural ingredient, the main one being coffee. I smelled like a yummy latte all day which I totally didn’t mind. The lotion goes on sheer with a brownish tint which comes from the coffee. This washes off. Maui babe is a tan accelerator, not a self-tanner. After a few tanning sessions of using it in tandem with sunscreen, I decided to try it by itself.
The result? I have never been happier with my tan. From the very first day of tanning, I already had a nice summer glow. So results happen fast. Over the next few days, my tan developed into a deep golden brown. I usually always go lobster red after a day at the beach but it did not happen this time. Another thing I noticed was that my skin did not peel at all and the color did not fade immediately. Three weeks later, people are still complementing me on my tan.
