I haven’t decided how I feel about cushion foundations. Maybe because I have oily skin and it’s so humid in the Philippines that I feel a cushion foundation will only slip off my oily face and, away with it, the SPF. Second, I don’t get the coverage I like since I’m such a fan of dual powder foundations or buildable liquid cream foundations. Foundation for me is the most important part of any make up routine because it’s literally the basis of all the steps.
Anyway, let’s get down to this new product by Maybelline.
The packaging is simple but I’m not really sure if it is refillable. It only comes in two shades which is a little bit disappointing as three shades would have been perfect—a light, a medium and a dark one. That way you can invest in all shades to mix and combine for a contouring and highlighting effect so that you get a REALLY natural finish with dimension.
That said, who’s the perfect match for this? This is perfect for someone with normal to dry skin, which can hold the BB foundation well even without a primer. Someone who doesn’t need that much coverage but needs enough to correct redness. This is also good for people who don’t like to layer on make up but want to look polished and not overly done. This cushion works best on women who don’t need to conceal any acne marks and would like a super simple routine. It also works best in cold weather.
