Summer Looks Hot Off the Runways

Another season, another set of beauty trends hot off the Spring/Summer 2018 runways! This season, we’ve got a lot of beauty staples with a twist, and some comeback trends from years ago that have been updated for the new millennium. Here are our favorite SS18 looks that you can take from the catwalk to the beach!

Sci-fi chic never looked so good as in the bold and bright shadows and liners painted on your favorite catwalk queen’s eyes on the SS18 runways. Everyone from Georgia May Jagger to Gigi Hadid rocked them neon eyes, which definitely gave more than a pop of color to the season. Now is not the time to be shy!

Red lips are always in. This season brings a slight update to the classic red lip. Too perfect, color blocked bold lips are out, summer lips are all about ombre and stain-like finishes. This season’s lip tones range from bloody reds and lollipop pinks to cute tomato and raspberry tints.

Have you ever applied eyeliner in a moving vehicle, desperately waiting for the light to turn red so you could have those precious seconds to draw a perfect line? And just when you thought you’ve gotten the perfect eye flick, the car hits a hump and your eyeliner looks like it was applied by a child. Yes, we’ve all been there. Well, lucky for you, the runways were all about breaking eyeliner rules and conventions. From negative-space eyes and thicker and rounder flicks on the edge to “floating liner” (drawing long lines on the crease instead of the lids) and underliner, this season is all about adventurous eyeliner.

It’s pretty much Twiggy eyes with a twist. Spider like, clumped lashes were all the rage in Dior’s shows. Makeup artist, Peter Philips, achieved this look with a 60s retro vibe  by applying generous coats of mascara to the models’ lashes and purposefully making them look clumped, like when you use that months old tube of mascara that needs replacement soon.

Nail art is back (not that it ever really left). Anna Sui’s and Tom Ford’s models had shining shimmering splendid nails while sashaying in the brands’ SS apparel. Jeremy Scott took it a step further, and had models have glitter running down past the nails to their fingers.
