Everyone is talking about Micellar Water but what really is it? The general misconception is that it’s a makeup remover. Yes, it does remove makeup but what it really is is a facial cleanser. Micellar Water is made up of water and tiny balls of oil cleansing molecules called Micelles. These molecules attract dirt, makeup, sebum, and pollution particles while leaving skin toned and hydrated.
Maybelline Micellar Water lives up to its claims. What I like about it is you do not have to rinse after using the product. It does not leave an oily residue on your skin and does not have a stinging sensation. It’s perfectly suited for those with sensitive skin.
The only downside is it does not completely remove heavy foundation and waterproof makeup. Having said that, it does indicate in the bottle that the product removes “light” makeup. What I love about the product is that it’s perfect to take with you if you are travelling or if you know you are going to have a long day out. It’s an easy way to clean and refresh your skin without having to completely wash your face. For me, it’s perfect for location shoots! I’ll definitely have a bottle in both my professional and personal kit!
