One of my favorite things about being a writer for Calyxta is that I get to test out new products. I was truly happy with the primer stashed in my make up kit so I was not on the lookout for a new one. Then they gave me Eve Pearl Priming Moisturizer Treatment and I found something so much better.
Using primers are an essential first step for everyone who wants a make up look that is flawless and lasts all day. The EP Primer is a moisturizer and a primer rolled into one. I use so many products on my self and make up clients everyday so I love it when things are dual purpose because it allows me to skip a step, get things done quicker. But what makes this product a cut above the rest is that is contains Astaxanthin, a natural sunblock that is loaded with anti-oxidants. Astaxanthin is 500x stronger than Vitamin E, it helps restore elasticity in the skin, and it’s an anti-inflammatory that can help with skin irritations. By now we all know that we need to slather on sunblock everyday to protect us from harmful UV rays. Most sunblocks, however, are horrible for flash photography- it makes light bounce right off your face and makes you look ghostly in photos. But with this primer you are protected from the sun AND are selfie ready.
I use a pea-sized amount of primer and spread it evenly all over my face. I notice its texture immediately, it feels light on the skin. I felt like my skin could still breathe through this primer. It smoothened out the skin and has a ‘soft-focus’ effect that makes wrinkles and fine lines less obvious. It also stays in place. Some silicone-based primers tend to be too greasy which causes makeup to shift after a few hours of use. My make up did not budge and stayed on well into the evening with out looking oily.
