Fashion and beauty are practically inseparable, and we can see that even on the runways of the 2017 Maybelline New York Fashion Week, the trends focused more on a makeup-first approach. Most of the time however, women tend to base their makeup looks on what outfit they’ll be wearing for the day. Here are some tips to have your makeup be the perfect complement to your outfit!
We like: COLOURPOP ULTRA MATTE LIP (P480)
Get saturated color that smoothens perfectly in one coat. It’s very long-wearing and completely kiss-proof!
We like: PIXI MESMERIZING MINERAL PALETTE in MINERAL CONTOUR (P620)
With a stunning collection of 6 silky, long-lasting, ultra-pigmented colors composed of gemstone-inspired tones, this palette is perfect in creating a smokey eye look!
PINK SUGAR CREAMY MATTE LIPSTICK in BREAKFAST IN BED (P349) With a semi-matte formula that glides on smoothly, this shade will surely complement a variety of looks.
There’s just something very classic about wearing red lips with a black outfit. Another look to try is to play up an LBD with smokey eyes and a nude lip. If you’d like to give your black look a bit of an edge, try colored eyeliner! I personally love putting a little bit of green on the lower outer corners of my eyes.
We like: OFRA LONG LASTING LIQUID LIPSTICK in MANILA (P850)
This beautiful nude looks flattering on a number of skin tones and is lightweight, creamy, and soft when applied. It dries matte without looking flaky or cracked!
4. Print on Print
We like: EYE OF HORUS GODDESS PENCIL in TEAL MALACHITE (P990)
A beautiful, bright teal liner that glides smoothly on the lids and can stay as is or be smudged to get a softer effect.
MEDUSA’S MAKEUP LIPSTICK in RIO (P295)
A unique vegan lipstick with the perfect pop of color to complement teal lids!
If you’re a little bit more daring, why not pair a print-on-print ensemble with an equally bold makeup look? Take inspiration from the prints of your #OOTD and recreate the color on your lids! A teal liner or eyeshadow would look amazing with a hot pink hue on your lips, or even something with a red orange tone!
