My Top 5 Makeup Products Under P300 from Painted Cosmetics

As a part of the beauty-mongering community that is Calyxta, I’ve become an easy (and willing) target for trying out the great new brands that come aboard. Painted Cosmetics Cloud Crème Paint in Fluff

With a name like Cloud Crème Paint, it’s easy to make the association with the famed Glossier Cloud Paints—don’t be fooled! Its consistency is much runnier, giving it a watery texture rather than a cream texture. Because of this, I was a little apprehensive; I initially took an entire pump onto the back of my hand without realizing how much this product spread! I thought that this would be a product that would be hard to handle, but after being petty and giving it the cold shoulder like an upset girlfriend for some time, I tried it again.

If you’re careful—a little goes a long, long, long way—with how much you dispense at a time, it works really well! With its thin, watery consistency, it’s easy to spread, pat in, and layer up without feeling too heavy. It does feel a bit slick, but once it settles, it gives off a beautiful, glowing sheen even without highlighter! I love using the shade, Fluff, in particular for that cute drunk flush on particularly low-maintenance makeup days. I even use a bit for light eyeshadow, connecting it to the undereye area as well for a light pink pop!

I’m not usually a lip tint/stain kind of person, so I didn’t expect too much from this product. Tints tend to cling on all the wrong places, especially since my lips are naturally flaky if I don’t work extra hard to be nice to them (with the help of the aforementioned lip serum!).

However, this one gave me a nice pop of color without making my mouth look like a bloody crime scene! It dries fast and really clings on though, so for people like me that love defying norms and using everything as all-over color sticks, I steer clear of using this for the cheeks.

Painted Cosmetics Clay Blusher in Coral 

I’ve recently been so into products you only need to pat on with your fingers (#lazygirls unite!), so I naturally gravitated towards this clay blusher. It’s super easy to blend, though you would still need to be careful about lifting off any foundation underneath by patting too hard.

The pigment isn’t intimidating, which makes the product a great option for both light pinches of color or heavier, more built up color. It also makes for an easy eyeshadow! These are perfect for travelling, too; just chuck one into your travel bag with eyeliner and a lippie, and you’re good to go!
