BB Creams and CC Creams are hardly the newest trend. Both have been staples at the drugstore and cosmetics counters for at least a couple of years now. Still, these products seem to leave people confounded. Most of us can’t even tell the difference between the two, let alone know which product is best for us.
Let’s be honest. BB Creams are CC Creams are very similar to each other. Both are souped up versions of tinted moisturizers with just the right modifications. BB stands for Beauty Balm or Blemish Balm, and like its name, aims to make your skin look like a smooth, natural canvas. BB creams are your primer, moisturizer, foundation and sunscreen all rolled in to one nifty tube. I am a fan of any multi-tasking product because I would rather hit the snooze button a couple of times and get a little more shut-eye over waking up at the crack of dawn to paint my face. There is really nothing like effortless beauty that looks like you didn’t try so hard. Not only is nailing this look a cinch with BB Cream, it actually is the easiest thing to do. Though I’ll use foundation on myself for special occasions, I’ve long ago traded it in for BB Cream as part of my day to day routine.
CC Creams, on the other hand, also act as your moisturizer, foundation and sunscreen with a few more additional features. CC stands for Color Correction and has such contains brighteners, light reflecting pigments, anti-aging ingredients. It goes on a little lighter than a BB Cream but is able to neutralize redness or sallowness in the skin. I absolutely recommend it for people with oily or acne-prone skin, feel like their skin is looking lackluster and want to add brightness to it, and those who want to conceal the effects of the sun and aging.
