Beauty Forecast 2018

Glossy skin, heavily-lined eyes, and elegant braids are just some of the hot new trends that we’ll be seeing more and more of in the coming months!

The fashion runways are always a reliable way to gauge how big a beauty trend will be as designers work and collaborate with the best and the brightest in the beauty industry, and these five trends are guaranteed to be grabbing the spotlight soon:

Beam Me Up

The forecast for skin next year is all about gloss, sheen, and shine. At the Victoria Beckham S/S 2018 show, models were seen sporting immaculate, iridescent skin that glowed from afar. The aim here is to mimic the texture and appearance of young skin that radiates from within. To get skin looking naturally luminous, try mixing a highlighting product like W7’s Night Glow Highlighter and Illuminator, P349 with your daily moisturizer. This will help give skin a subtle radiance boost.

The Eyes Have It

Tom Ford’s recent runway show featured models with thick, kohl-rimmed upper lash lines. This is different from your regular cat eye as the technique here is to soften the edges so that you get less of a feline look, and more of a grunge-y feel. For this trend, we suggest using a blendable yet ultra-long wearing eyeliner like Eye of Horus’ creamy Goddess Eye Pencil in Smokey Eye, P880.

Woven Wonder

This isn’t your ordinary little girl-next-door braid. Designers like Vivienne Westwood and Jil Sander went the extra mile to create a handful of technically complex braids and plaits that were absolutely breathtaking on the S/S 2018 runway. Some of the braids featured wide, four-strand weaves that looked more like a work of art than a hairstyle. To follow in the same creative footsteps, try doing a freestyle braid (there’s no need for symmetry or perfection this time!), and use a molding product like Toni & Guy’s High Definition Spray Wax, P750 to give strands a more organic finish.

Metallic Lips

2017 was still all about matte liquid lipsticks, and we can’t blame how much this beauty trend is loved! Luscious Lashes
