Hair is a complicated business – a lot of times it seems like it has a mind of its own. There are mornings when we give up on our tresses and find that the only solution to looking decent is to put it up into a bun or ponytail. Believe it or not, there are ways a good hair day can be achieved without the aid of a hairdryer. Here are a few tricks to help you whatever your hair type is:
Frizz control
Remember that dryness equals frizz. The first course of action is to make sure that you keep your hair moisturized and conditioned properly. What better way to start than by using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner such as Agave Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner with ingredients like agave sugar proteins, vanilla, coconut and Madagascar baobab seed oil that helps hydrate, condition and nourish hair.
Also, rubbing your hair with a regular towel causes friction and roughs up the hair cuticle inviting more frizz. After washing your mane, squeeze water out and use paper towels to absorb extra water. Using a cotton T-shirt to dry is also a good alternative.
Avoid breakage
Wet hair means that it’s more fragile and more susceptible to damage. Wrapping your hair up in a towel-turban is a big no-no. The weight of the towel causes breakage around the roots and is the number culprit of those bothersome “baby hairs” around our hairline.
Another way to avoid breakage is to use a wide tooth comb to detangle wet hair instead of a brush.
Give those tresses a boost with product
We all want our hair to look healthy and shiny without any strays. It’s a10 Miracle Dry Oil Spray Plus Keratin is an ultra lightweight formula that conditions hair taming those unwanted fly-aways. It’s perfect for both sleek and curly hairstyles.
If you’re aiming for a more textured look, Toni & Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray will do the trick. Gently spray 6-10 inches on damp hair and use your fingers to work the product through to the ends.
Air dry
Now the waiting game begins. Keep yourself busy while waiting for your hair to dry.
If you want waves, loosely braid your hair and twist it into a high bun while waiting for it to dry. If you are going for something with less volume, set your hair into 2 loose braids and wait to dry.
If you wash your hair at night, a good trick is to do two loose braids and twist them up before hitting the sack. This way you wake up with gorgeous waves.
