Prior to writing this article, I casually asked the Calyxta Crew what their favorite beauty finds were for 2017, and it was so much fun to listen to them share their discoveries and why they loved it so much! And so, I thought to myself, why not post the same question on social media to see what other women would say? I posted the question on my Facebook and Twitter accounts at around 5pm on December 26, and was quite surprised to find that overnight, nearly 40 women (and even 1 guy friend) replied to the thread!
While the Calyxta Crew’s favorite beauty finds for the year include Innisfree’s Green Tea Mineral Mist, TIA’M’s My Signature C Source, W7’s Night Glow, and Pixi’s Natural Contour Powder, not to mention the obsession of almost everybody over COSRX’s extremely effective Pimple Master Patch, check out what fellow beauty addicts (and even top bloggers and editors) had to say!
“I love the Heroine Make mascara because they make my anime character eyelash dreams come true! Haha.”
Shari Poquiz-Macainag, Blogger at themistymom.com
“Maybelline’s Baby Skin Primer and Dream Velvet Matte, and L’Oreal’s Infallible Foundation and Setting Spray! I don’t know, but I think the real MVP’s were the stuff that made me less oily despite my hardcore breakouts!”
“Topping my list of best beauty buys for 2017 are the L’Oréal X Balmain 650 Power Lipstick and the L’Oréal Lucent Magique Glow Blush in Sweet Coral. I never do a full face of makeup. I think a bold lip color and a rosy flush are enough, and these two products get the job done perfectly. I love statement lips which is exactly what the L’Oréal X Balmain 650 Power Lipstick gives, and when combined with a blush that complements Asian skin well, makes for the perfect finishing touch to any look and takes you from day to night!”
“Paprika’s Matte and Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette! Love that it’s super pigmented! Just one dab and swipe will go a long way! It’s easy to blend and there’s no fall out, too! Plus I love the bright colors that really help brighten the eyes! This thread is so fun to answer!”
“The Ordinary Buffet and Fenty Beauty’s Killawat Highlighters are my no money, hustle baby finds.”
“Pixi’s Multibalm as a contour! I’m actually wearing it in the photo!”
“Innis Free No-Sebum Powder is the best for oily skin AND doubles as a dry shampoo!”
“Seconding whoever said Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder, which can be the difference between my tiny spots and bumps being visible or not because it somehow smooths everything over!”
“It’s Skin Power 10 Formula VB Effector with Vitamin B6 Serum! I like it because it gives my skin this subtle glow (based on compliments I get!). It also helps control oil, and it makes applying my BB or CC Cream easier. I’m new to the K-Beauty thing, but whatever I change in my routine, I always make sure this serum stays! My skin is acne prone too, and even though I still get breakouts, this serum helps get rid of them faster.”
“Purederm’s Spot Reducer Gel Patches! I LOVE THIS. After using it for just one night, my pimple goes FLAT.”
“Girlactik Matte Lip Paint! It’s very easy to apply since it has a creamy texture. Very good coverage and it lasts long! Best among all matte lippies that I have. Plus a tube contains a lot more!”

“Kat Von D‘s Lock-It Foundation. It has the best coverage in my foundation line-up, stays on the longest, and holds up well against Bangkok’s heat—even while temple hopping the whole day!”
