A great mani can make or break your entire look. We’ve rounded up the hottest and chicest nail looks that have trickled down from the runway and into our hearts. Find out which nail trends are making waves right this minute!
Metallic
The disco era is back, and it’s showing on nails, too. Take your pick from gold, silver or even blue but make sure to keep your nails on the short side. A mani in a chrome finish needs to look modern and chic, and keeping your tips short does just that. Make sure to use a good, long-wearing top coat—metallics tend to look obvious when they’ve chipped.
Embellished
If you’re all about statement nails, then you’re going to love this glam trend: crystal-embellished nails, as seen at Phillip Plein are making waves this year, and they look especially sophisticated when worn alongside a simple, monochromatic ensemble. To get this look, you’ll need stick-on or acrylic nails. After which, studs of your choice will be punched into the artificial nails. It’s a bit of a tedious task but the results are nothing short of fabulous.
Greige
The new nude this year seems to be a beautiful mix of beige and gray, and the result is a pretty nude that’s both modern and fresh. The reason why this hue is such a hit is because unlike some pink nudes, it flatters all skin tones. Take into consideration the finish of the polish though—with greige, it seems the better choice would be to go with a classic shiny top coat over matte as a matte finish tends to look dull in this particular hue.
Single Statement
Seen at the S/S 2018 runway of Kate Spade, this trend done by nail polish queen, Deborah Lippmann, is an ode to minimalism and geometric design. The aim here is to paint nails as you normally would (light colors work best), then painting a solid line across using black nail polish. You may paint all nails with the black line or limit it to one accent nail.
