Holiday season or not, these renowned salons are tried and tested by the Manila “It” society, and are known as the leading authority in blow-dry services. So, if you need a quick, party-ready and picture-perfect locks, these top three salons are Manila’s certified “Best Blowout Bars” to visit.
JuRo Salon Exclusif (2F Kensington Place, 1st Avenue corner 29th St., Bonifacio Global City)
Owned by Jude Hipolito, a Vidal Sassoon-trained stylist who uses only the finest tools (his Mizutani scissors from Japan are exquisite), and Rose Mariñas, who used to be a long-time trainer for L’Oréal, and is now a certified hair color expert who works with well-known and celebrity-loved brands such as Elgon from Italy as well as Olaplex (a fave of the likes of JLo and Gwyneth Paltrow). With the expertise of Jude and Rose, it’s easy to see why JuRo is a fave salon of many beauty editors who visit the salon even for the simple blow-dry. The service begins with a quick analysis of what the hair needs in preparation of the blow-dry. The sulfate-free shampoo will be used on previously colored hair while an application of Phyto’s Phytopolleine drops is usually applied on a scalp that has been deemed sensitized from too much chemical processing. The blow-dry itself is pretty straightforward. You’ll be asked what you prefer—a natural-looking blowout, straight locks or a style packed with volume. Whichever way, JuRo has you covered, and you can be sure you’ll be leaving the salon with your #BestHairEver.
Blo Blow Dry Bar (Level 1, Power Plant Mall, Makati)
Blo is famous for their tagline: “You’re not cheating on your hairdresser—and it’s absolutely true.” There’s no guilt factor to worry about when going to Blo because the only service they offer is a shampoo and blow-dry. But, after the blow-dry, you can choose hairstyles such as the sultry, tousled, bedhead do dubbed as “Pillow Talk” or a plait-inspired style coined as “Go Fish.” More hairstyles that you might like to try after the blow-dry are available from their cool menu. What’s a big plus, too, is that the hair technicians have been trained to do the job well—they’re good and fast. At this blowout bar, you’re never late for your next appointment.
Bench Fix (2F Glorietta 2, Makati)
Bench Fix is known for it’s bang-for-your-buck blow-dry. It’s hard to find a salon that grants you a decent blow-dry for less than P300 (that already includes a P50 tip). But, Bench Fix is able to do that. At P225, it’s the salon choice of girls who are on a budget yet still need to get their hair professionally blow dried for an event. The technicians are friendly, and straightforward with their approach. Simply tell them what look you’re going for (natural or with body), and they’ll be happy to get you looking fab in no time.
