In the same way that you can play with your tops and bottoms in fashion, you can do the same for your nails through fun color combinations when you schedule your next mani-pedi appointment. Here are some suggestions when working with various combinations:
Play with light and dark: Stay in the same color family but pair a dark blue with a light blue or a hot red with its more muted version.
Play with the color wheel: If you want to go for something really bold, check out a color wheel often used when painting and choose colors on the opposite sides. For instance, blue and orange or violet and yellow. If you want to go more complimentary, choose the color right beside the one you have like blue and purple.
Stick to the same intensity: Go neon all the way and play with two vibrant colors for a weekend at the beach. Or go muted and matte, like white and gray, for a week behind your desk.
Play with solid and textures: Stick to the same color family but play around with a glittery version and its more solid counterpart.
Play with neutrals: Stay with earthy neutral colors like gray, beige, brown, and greens.
Play with plains and prints: Have some nail art placed on complimentary nails on both your hands and feet. Play with some of your nails being painted in a fun pattern while the rest stay solid.
Go ombré: Choose three to four shades in lighter to darker version of their color family and play with going from lighter to darker from out to in for your manicure and then in to out for your pedicure.
