Admit it, you cut your hair to make a statement. However, over time, you realize that the pixie cut is boring and high maintenance.. So, you dream to grow your long, shiny black hair back, but it is not easy as it seems. A go-to list for tricks are here to guide you through restoring your hair to its glossy glory.
1. Get your hair trimmed every couple of months. No, this doesn’t speed up hair growth. It prevents split ends from running up the hair.
2. Add food rich in Vitamin A, B, C and E to your diet. You also might want to add Biotin tablets as a supplement. Eating healthy speeds up hair growth, and ensures it turns thick and shiny.
3. Stop shampooing so often. Try to cut it down to two or three times a week because too frequent shampooing can be extremely harsh and can dry out the hair follicles when overdone. It causes hair to thin and be stripped of its natural oils which can cause damage. Instead, rinse the hair and go straight into conditioning it. Conditioners are extremely helpful in speeding up hair growth because it nourishes the hair cuticle.
4. Apply a hair mask once a week. Hair masks contain a lot of oils that are hydrating. Another option is to use natural oils on the hair such as coconut or almond oil. Heat the oil until it is warm – not hot – to touch,. Then, apply it to the scalp and work your way to the roots. Be sure to give your scalp a massage to stimulate the follicles which can speed up growth. Finally, rinse with shampoo to seal the oil into the hair.
5. Get an aloe vera leaves from the garden, and use its nectar on your scalp. This classic home remedy still works until today.
6. Try an egg mask on your hair. Whip an egg or two (depending on the length of your hair), and coat your hair with it. Leave on for 20 minutes. This will strengthen your hair, and leave it with a lot of shine. Remember to rinse it off using cool or cold water.
