Summer is here again and I’m pretty sure you have something fun planned out this weekend. One of the most popular destinations for this season is of course THE island that boasts of pristine white sand and epic parties: Boracay! Millennials, you know the drill! You’ve probably been preparing the past few weeks, cutting back on food and spending hours in the gym to get that perfect beach body, but have you thought about what you’ll be hoarding in your vanity kit? Let your inner beach goddess shine front and center with these beach beauty essentials.
Sunscreen
I know we all want to leave Boracay with bronze Victoria’s Secret model skin, but remember, you always, always need to tan responsibly. Choose a sunscreen that’ll protect your skin from both UVB and UVA rays, one with a broad spectrum label. These harmful rays wreak havoc to your skin and the bad effects last for years! VMV Armada Sport SPF 70 is a non-sticky formula that’s fast absorbent and shields your skin even in the harshest of sun with nary a trace of burn! |

Tanning Lotion
For the golden tan of your dreams, apply tanning lotion 10 minutes after slathering on your sunscreen to make sure the skin has absorbed it well. Layer Maui Babe Browning Lotion to for a lasting, gorgeous glow. The tinted formula also acts as a self-tanner that deepens under the sun. Some tanning lotions already come with SPF albeit a low number, so it’s best to layer on the sunscreen beforehand for extra protection. |

Tinted Moisturizer or BB Cream
It’s a faux-pas to be wearing a full face of foundation and make up at Laboracay or any beach for that matter! It’s one of my pet peeves seeing girls with too much make up whilst sweating (and melting) at the beach. Sweat, make up, and heat are a deadly combination—hello, break-outs! The heat opens up the pores, which can be clogged up by make up and dirt from the sweat. If you must have coverage, just stick to a light and oil free tinted moisturizer or bb cream. Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Illuminating Moisturizer Broad Spectrum comes with SPF 15 that both hides blemishes and protects! |

Make up Essentials
There’s only one acceptable make up look at the beach—the natural face. For your peepers, use brown aqua liner or waterproof eyeliner to naturally define the eyes. For the brows, use a brow pencil (it looks more natural) instead of powder or gel, and just lightly fill in the eyebrows. For lips and cheeks, use a double duty lip and cheek tint like Besame’s Crimson Cream Rouge to achieve a healthy glow. |
|
And lastly, for sexy, tousled locks, splash some salt water to your hair and let it air dry messily for perfect beach waves! Aid it with Toni & Guy’s Sea Salt Spray to hold the style. There you have it! You’re all set to rock the beach goddess look at Laboracay this weekend. Keep safe and beautiful, Calyxta beach babe! |
