If you’ve seen our cover stories on August 2018 #CalyxtaGirl, Gabbi Garcia, you’ll find the location to be one of the most Instagram-worthy places in Metro Manila. You wouldn’t think you’d find this gem in Quezon City, and for those of you wondering—yes, it’s from the same owner as Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan.
Las Casas in Quezon City is a mini version of the one in Bataan, complete with an events space, a restaurant, and soon, a boutique hotel. The place used to be owned by the Juico family (pioneers of travel agencies in the Philippines), before it was renovated and restored by Las Casas, and getting Margarita Fores to take over the restaurant. Every corner was so beautiful, that during our shoot with Gabbi, I couldn’t help but also snap a photo in the garden area.
Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Quezon City is located at 134 Roosevelt Avenue, San Francisco del Monte (behind Fisher Mall). For inquiries and reservations, you may call them at (02) 866 8500 or e-mail them at lascasasquezoncity@gmail.com
I remember first seeing and experiencing Las Casas in Bataan during its soft opening six years ago. There was still a lot of construction going on, but the management invited the Ultimate Frisbee community to hold a tournament in their resort—to test run their rooms and facilities, and see if it would be able to accommodate large groups of people. This tournament was actually very memorable for me, because apart from getting sick that weekend (which meant I couldn’t play anymore), it was also where my love story with my long-time boyfriend started! As co-captains of our team, he was the one who took care of me and made sure I was comfortable during those two days—the rest is history!
