It was no doubt a gorgeous July 29 afternoon with #CalyxtaBeauty as guests arrived in their own take of modern chic with a pop of color at Early Night? to witness one of Manila’s most sought-after celebrity makeup artists, Jigs Mayuga, recreate five favorite makeup trends this Fall/Winter 2017.

In an intimate and interactive makeup session, Jigs opened the floor to a plethora of beauty questions as the demo was ongoing, and guests were quick to ask away. The makeup extraordinaire generously gave his advice on how to perfect makeup applications for the everyday Filipina.

Ethereal
Go for an ethereal vibe in a simple “glow from within” look that highlights an over-the-top strobing technique. Prepping your skin well is essential in achieving this look, and the key products used were: Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer (P500), Simple Micellar Water (P500), Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-In-1 Foundation + Concealer (P750), Maybelline Face Studio V-Face Strobing Cream (P399), and Maybelline Face Studio V-Face Strobing Stick (P399).
Reinvented Smokey Eye
Update the classic smokey eye by using grey hues and an intensely black eyeliner to create a smoldering cat-eye. Jigs recommends using a flat brush for this eye look, as well as Eye Of Horus Palette In Sekhmet Smokey Goddess (P1,350), and Eye Of Horus Liquid Define Eye Liner Black (P990).
Feathered Brows
To create feathered brows, Jigs suggests brushing your eyebrows towards the opposite direction of growth. He used a brow primer before lightly filling in Mariel’s brows using the Malissa Kiss Super Shape Ultra HD Brow Pencil in Mocha (P349).
Pop of Color
Mix and match two fun-colored eyeshadows to create that full pop of color! Go big and bold just like how Jigs used the turquoise shade from Pink Sugar’s Eye Candy Eyeshadow Palette in Eye Candy 1 (P699).
Just-Kissed Lips
Odd as it may seem, the trick is to apply your lipstick imperfectly. To create that “just-made-out” lips, Jigs used his fingers to apply the Pixi Get the Look – ItsLipTime (P1,495), instead of a brush to avoid making it too precise and clean. He created a light ombre by concentrating on more color in the middle of the lips then fading it outwards.
