When you first hear of the brand’s name, you’ll immediately wonder why it was called as such. 23.5ºN seems a little unusual, especially for a skin care line—but it evidently spells out coordinates to a specific location.
Last August 9, at Single Origin in Rockwell, Beauty Bar put together an intimate event for beauty editors, bloggers, and influencers to officially launch the new skin care brand available on their shelves. It was here that they explained how the brand name came to be—sitting 23.5ºN of the equator is the Tropic of Cancer, the northernmost circle of the globe where direct sunlight hits both land and water. This intangible loop runs across deserts and tropical climates—where greens and agriculture flourish. And so building off of Taiwan’s reputation as an Ilha Formosa or beautiful island, where natural resources are abundant, 23.5ºN brings to the Philippines farm-to-face goodness that promises to nurture our skin naturally.
The brand’s approach to beauty is simple and meticulous rooted in a back-to-basics philosophy, which keeps the product formulations effective and easy on the skin. All products are free of fragrance, artificial coloring, alcohol, and parabens. Ingredients are freshly extracted from Taiwan’s local plants grown without the aid of chemical fertilizers. These are well-preserved from harvest to extraction so that the plants’ active ingredients are kept fresh from start to finish.
Dedicated to nurturing Asian skin in a variety of climates, including our hot and humid weather, their range of skin care series offers refreshing effects on the skin and provides an answer to common woes like having oily, dry, or sensitive skin.
With four series to choose from—Rice (to soothe), Red Pearl Barley (to whiten), Bamboo (to hydrate), Oriental Beauty Tee (to balance) all of which come in an arsenal of makeup removers, cleansers, toners, serums, creams, and masks, there is definitely a line well-suited for any Filipina skin type.
