I have to admit that when I was first asked to review Avene’s Thermal Spring Water Spray, I was skeptical about how just good old-fashioned H20 could benefit my skin from the outside. Yes, I drink the stuff daily but could it really give me a healthier glow by being used as a toner?
Avene is a French brand launched in 1990 that centers its products around Avene’s Thermal Spring Water which promises to “soothe, soften and restore skin’s natural balance”. It is recommended that you use it at least twice a day: at night before your serums and treatments and in the morning before or after your makeup.
Pros:
- Really refreshing
- Completely gentle (perfect for those who prefer to stir clear of chemicals in their products)
- Helps with the healing process on cuts, acne and sun burns. I now spray it on any mosquito bite my family gets.
- Works wonders on redness. My mom swears by it for her rosacea. I was surprised to discover that she has used over six bottles already. She prefers to spray it on her clean hands and pat it on her face.
- I found my skin to be less oily throughout the day when used regularly.
- Makes a great setting spray after your makeup.
Cons:
- Not cheap, but with daily use this will last you for a good number of months.
- The spray can is huge and not very travel friendly. I believe they have smaller sizes for your trips.
Conclusion:
If you’re in the market for something completely gently to help balance your skin’s PH level and combat redness, this is a good place to start.
